Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS)

Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) is an employment program for individuals who experience disability. IVRS serves individuals who are determined eligible for services, and a recipient of Social Security (SSI or SSDI) is considered "automatically eligible" for IVRS.

The goal of IVRS is to provide services to individuals who are interested in finding, maintaining or retaining employment. For those determined eligible, an individualized program plan would be developed to deliver the employment services needed based on each individual's unique needs.

An SSA beneficiary would be provided with benefits planning services from their local IVRS office or the state Benefits Planner employed by IVRS, depending on the complexity of a case.  Each of the 13 IVRS offices has a benefits planner available to help inform beneficiaries about their disability benefits and use of work incentives.
